Conservative Christian presidential candidate, Rick Santorum, gave a speech regarding the erosion of personal freedoms and civil liberties in America, under the current political administration. Santorum referenced cases in history when people faced similar oppression and how badly it ended, as a wake up call to defend the Constitution of the United States.
A number of U.S. websites have activated a blackout to protest the anti-piracy, Hollywood favoring congressional bills SOPA and PIPA, as some of the measures contained in the legislation can be abused for political and economic reasons, to take advantage of innocent websites.
The bill also threatens free speech, which would become an offense that can result in one’s website being seized by the government. This is un-American, as the Constitution of the United States guarantees free speech and free press.
Due to the pending legislation, President Obama is being accused of favoring his rich and famous cronies in Hollywood, who are often seen in the White House, over Silicon Valley, which is ironic, as the tech sector generates more jobs and revenue for America.
