Perry has made a number of constructive suggestions, regarding term limits for unelected federal judges and reduced budgets for the U.S. Congress, who he labels “out of touch.” He refers to members of Congress as “overpaid, overstaffed and away from home far too much.”

A new bill has been introduced into the U.S. Congress, labeled “the STOCK act” that if passed, would bar lawmakers from engaging in insider trading, using privileged information obtained in the legislature. The CBS News expose of this unethical practice, featured on the program “60 Minutes” has caused an uproar, prompting some lawmakers to push for the bill’s passage. Former House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, has become the poster child for insider trading in Congress, a development she dislikes.
The Republican party discussed preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. Mitt Romney discussed his belief that if left to President Obama, Iran would acquire a nuclear weapon, which is something he stated he would prevent if elected. Herman Cain and Michele Bachmann also discussed “waterboarding.”
